2022.01.26 17:38 NTI7 How do certain GPUs fair in 2022?

Currently got a 1050ti, was thinking of saving up for 3060ti but I'm not willing to spend over £600 (willing at max like £580) on a GPU tbh, 1050ti in the hall of fame but it's dying, how do these cards (below) fair in 2022, and how long roughly do you think they're futureproofed for, ideally I'd like 3+ years
2070 super?
2080ti and 2080 super are too out of price range I think

2022.01.26 17:38 DragonofLightning Regional Recommendations?

Hello, longtime lurker! I know from perusing on here that almost everyone is hiring, but I'm starting to look at regionals and am wondering if there are any I'm considering that would be must-avoids or big recommendations.
Timeline: Looking to apply in around 12 months, hit ATP mins in about 16-18.
Region: SE USA, obviously know being in base is better but if I had to commute would be out of TPA.
Regionals I've looked at: PSA, Envoy, Endeavor.
I know it is a bit far out still and the industry changes on a dime, just wanted to hear if anyone had any need-to-know advice.

2022.01.26 17:38 JoeDirtsMullet00 The Air Pocket

So Marty’s theory on the air pocket in a tunnel…He was saying they may have dug a tunnel up some to go around a rock and that created a space where an air pocket could form. If that were the case then after hitting the air, they would hit that rock with the drill rig. No mention or evidence of that so Marty is full of shit.

2022.01.26 17:38 ag87-2 How to most easily port newer C# code to an older version or build in an older environment

This is some information related to handling pre-written C# code with 3.x syntax on machines that only support 2.x.
Since I eventually ended up resolving the issue myself after a great deal of effort, I thought the answer could potentially be helpful to others, so wanted to post it. If this is the incorrect location or have made any mistakes, please forgive me since I don't post a lot and this is my first post to this subreddit. Also note that although I've done some work off and on with C# over the years, I've done a LOT more work with other languages like C/C++ so am coming from that perspective. This information may or may not be useful to experienced C# programmers, but my hope is that it has at least some potential value to someone.
Anyway, I had an existing C# project (3rd party, not my own code) written using some 3.x syntax and needed to find a way to get it to work in a 2.x environment.
I considered a number of options (such as the obvious answer of building on a different machine with a newer environment), but due to various limitations ended up porting the syntax back to 2.x.
The changes I had to make to do so were:

That's the basics, but here's additional details for those that want them:
Note that replacing "var" typically involved making guesses and confirming them with the build tool's output. In most case the type was not immediately obvious, so I often simply used "string" then checked that against the build tool's output. In the very few cases where this approach did not work for one reason or another, some more detailed analysis was required.
The specifics for doing tasks such as replacing the accessors are listed elsewhere (often in information found with general internet searches), but if anyone wants me to do so, please let me know and I can give you specific examples here myself.
Note that I've been using the program in question successfully off and on for months now, so it appears that my changes did not introduce any obvious bugs.
Also, I should clarify: I made the changes so they would work under the 2.x syntax (as per my original requirements), I did not have to install anything or alter my version of .Net, I did not use a separate machine to do the build, and I built using just the command line (edits were done with a basic text editor).
I had originally hoped for an easier answer as per the following, but "no"/"not possible" seems the likely answer to all of them based on my own research and on asking around (on other sites; I had not found this subreddit at that point). I could be incorrect, of course; maybe there are answers other than "no" to these questions. But to be clear, I am no longer pursuing the answers to the following questions since I decided on the above solution (porting the code back manually). That said, if someone does happen to have an answer other than "no"/"not possible", that may still be helpful to anyone else who reads this post (plus I'd be curious to know myself).
After discovering that that answer to each of these questions seemed likely to be "no", I decided I had the choice to either write a tool myself to automatically change all of the new syntax to the old syntax, or else to simply fix it by hand. After some consideration, I decided that it would be much faster to fix it by hand (even though I knew doing so would be quite boring and repetitive). There were a very large number of changes that had to be made and I spent many hours making them off and on over the course of about a week or so. I think it was probably still much faster than creating an automated tool.
Again, I hope this information ends up being useful to someone (I did not find a post like this one when I was originally researching the issue; I ended up having to research the many various parts of this issue myself)

2022.01.26 17:38 goonerish_ Rent increase + potential lease termination

End of last year, landlord reached out to me about increasing the rent, by almost 3%. I told him about the 1.2% rent guidance (this is a pre-2018 building). Few weeks goes by and I get an email saying his son and family will need to move in to the place and want me to move out at end of the lease.
I have email thread for these conversations, and I plan to challenge it at LTB. But realistically, do I stand a chance? Like they can choose to move in, and LTB will just have to approve their termination request, then they move out after a few months and rent the place out again, and be doing nothing wrong legally? Should i start looking for places?

Dear Phd reditors, I wonder if anyone of you have any idea about the problem of indexation of E3S Web of Conferences. The E3S WOC is an open Access publicatiin series that archived conference proceeding and that was indexed in Scopus but for like 6 months untill now the Scopus indexation in the WOC website was marked as "Currently being on hold" I don't know if it is just a matter of time or it is not anymore indexed in Scopus. Any informations in this sense will be appreciated.

2022.01.26 17:38 30centurygirl Don’t fear ECV!

I just had an ECV at 36+6 without anesthesia. I’d heard so much about the procedure that put me on edge, but it was fine…and it worked! Sharing my experience in hopes that it may be helpful for anyone who’s hesitant or nervous like I was.
After I checked into L&D, the team established baselines for my and baby’s vitals, which took about an hour. Boring, since I had to be strapped into the monitors, but not bad. They gave me an IV for fluids as I wasn’t permitted to eat/drink all day in advance. The OB walked me through the procedure and the anesthesiologist explained the pros and cons of getting an epidural, which I opted to forego. The last part of prep was a shot to relax the uterus pre-procedure. Mine got me a little too relaxed, and I felt briefly faint. Once I felt better, we got started, and within a minute or two Jumbo Bean got the hint. It was not what I’d call comfortable, but it also didn’t hurt, just felt weird. They kept me for another hour to make sure his heart rate didn’t fall and he didn’t flip back. When neither happened I was free to go!
TL;DR: My ECV was far more pleasant and effective than advertised, and I 100% recommend giving it a shot if your baby is breech and you’re hoping to avoid a caesarean.
