2021.10.27 19:59 FriendofCynamoth New Update is actually rly good

Ok so when I first saw the update I was extremely disappointed. I did not want a new level. However my viewpoint ha a changed a lot with there being a lot of things like: The Level chests with 50 gems each ( was able to get my first emotes as a f2p) Being level 12! ( after being at 11 for 1-2 years) Getting star levels ( cool as heck and really making me love the game again) Getting cards back + having slash royale gold ( Helped a lot with upgrading my legend and epic cards that seemed impossible to get 20 and 200 of to level up to 13 as well as helping me a lot in ladder) New emote ( cool) Champions ( I’m not level 14 but using the skeleton king in the challenge was really fun and I’m really glad they made the first part casual to test decks with it. ) In conclusion I really liked the update how about you?

2021.10.27 19:59 onlymistert Performance tip

Dan says most people get very sick when doing QLA for a few months. He says fat people don’t get sick, they just eat more I guess.
I connected 2 points. What Dan said, and from my nutritional understanding, being fat on healthy food supplies a great surplus of extra nutrients to deal with toxins and waste products.
The forced work of QLA produces lots of stress, which accumulates extra waste product from your body dealing with it. Being fat helps supply nutrients to deal with this.
The Primal Diet by Aajonus Vonderplanitz is the best diet, and a great reflection of everything QLA stands for. This diet includes raw meat. Dan even drinks blood.
Conventional wisdom is almost always wrong. Conventional wisdom says bacteria is bad and you need to cook your meat. Completely wrong.
This diet gives you a quantum leap in health. This health will provide the energy and competence to successfully close deals.
If i did the diet perfect when i first found it, when I did my little QLA attempt where I moved 300 miles away, changes my number and got myself 5 months of cash to survive and do QLA full time, i probably would have succeeded.

2021.10.27 19:59 TheNobleHouseOfBlack Procreation/Having kids is incredibly SELFISH when there are MILLIONS of babies, children and teenagers who ALREADY EXIST and need a home. Adoption is BETTER, more ETHICAL and HUMANE than procreation.

*LONG POST AHEAD* I've posted this under a different account.
This is an edited version of my post, with certain added sections.
PS: Please read my post before commenting. This is an EXTREMELY LONG post, so please bear with me. I'm also pretty young, so my arguments might not be very developed. All discussions (Anti-natalists) are welcome.
At the risk of inciting anger, I will attempt to argue and convince you why procreation is inherently selfish, and why adoption is a lot more ethical. I will debate and debunk various arguments against adoption in hopes of convincing you. I will also argue why procreation is problematic in chapter 7.
One. If you're not mentally, physically and financially stable, you should not have kids, regardless of what you want. It is irresponsible and incredibly selfish. It isn't a personal choice, when you're actively and knowingly damning someone to a life of poverty, bad parenting, abuse, neglect, less opportunities, suffering and illness. If I punched someone in the streets, I would be convicted for assault, because I hurt someone.
(Please understand that you cannot use this argument against abortion. As the fetus isn't sentient and isn't viable without a host. Unlike babies and adults. Therefore it isn't a human. If you choose to abort, no one is negatively affected unless YOU regret it. And in my opinion, it's better to regret not having kids, than having one. Personally, I think it's pretty selfish to keep the fetus, because you can't bear to abort it, and add the born baby to the list of millions waiting to be adopted/damn the kid to a life of having a mother that didn't want it.)
Whereas if you choose to gestate, and give BIRTH to the baby, and damn him to a life of poverty, bad parenting, less opportunities, neglect abuse and discrimination, you are ruining the life of a baby, and a human. Why is it illegal for me to punch someone, but legal for me to damn a kid to abuse, neglect, poverty, illness, that were all perfectly preventable? It's not a personal choice, if it affects someone for life.

  1. I still believe that even IF you are mature, mentally physically and financially stable enough to care, provide and pay for their college degree/s, you still shouldn't biologically procreate. It simply isn't ethical to want a non-existent kid when there are millions of children in orphanages and the foster care system all over the world. I will argue more about this in later chapters. I will argue that procreation - forcing someone into existence without their consent- is morally problematic, and why it is better to not exist. Please note that non-existence and death are two very different things. I will explain that in detail late on.
If your reasons for wanting a kid are ethical, for example, wanting to nurture and care for someone, and not needing someone to carry your genes, you should be able to accomplish that with a kid that already exists. I dislike children being born to carry your legacy. I am not a fraction of someone else. I am my own person, with my own bodily autonomy, and MY genes. If you are unable or think you are unable to love a kid that isn't biologically related to you, you shouldn't procreate AT ALL.
  1. "Adoption is long" and "Adoption has its flaws''
The excuse of adoption being a long and legal process and therefore you should just procreate is, if you pardon me, absolute bullshit. Just because it's long and arduous, doesn't mean it's a good reason to procreate, when there are existing, sentient kids who need a home. Just because adopting a dog is slightly harder than buying one from a dog breeder, doesn't mean it's ethical to buy one, when you could adopt. And what makes you think pregnancy and labor are any easier? If you think adoption processes are arduous, then you are not equipped to handle the stress and labor of raising a kid. In later chapters, I will argue why procreation in and of itself is morally problematic.
Even if adoption has it's flaws, there are many horror stories after all, at least adoption processes like background checks and classes LOWER the chances of kids being placed in abusive homes.
And since adoption is expensive, at least the people/person adopting is/are financially stable. If your argument is that adoption is expensive, then you shouldn't have children, as the costs of raising a child to adulthood and more(the job market is abysmal) will ruin both you and your kid. If you consider adoption expensive, you do not have the adequate funds to provide a good life for your kid and you should not adopt/procreate one. Adoption being expensive lowers the chances of a kid being placed in a low income family, and lowers the chances of the kid growing up in poverty. Growing up in poverty is hard, and not ideal. Your number of opportunities are significantly lessened, and your life is a lot harder. Adoption being expensive lowers the chances of that happening.
Whereas with procreation, there's nothing to stop a toxic, inept person from gestating, and a baby born into an abusive home.
Also, even if those safeguards have marginal effects, adoption does help a lot of existing, sentient children. Just because 'those safeguards don't work' doesn't mean that you should procreate when it's a lot more ethical to adopt as you can improve the lives of already sentient people, instead of adding to the overpopulation and forcing someone into existence without their consent. The argument that safeguards aren't that effective, has absolutely no effect on my main point : "Procreation is selfish as you are adding to the overpopulation and forcing someone into existence, and when there are millions of babies, children and teenagers who need a home". And at least there are safeguards. No one under the age of 20 is allowed to adopt, no one under a certain income can afford to adopt, which like I mentioned, prevents children from being placed in low-income families where they'll have substantially less opportunities. If one cannot afford to adopt, one does not have the adequate funds to provide a GOOD life, with MANY opportunities to their children. Healthcare, therapy, hospital bills for accidents/chronic illnesses if there are any, a good school, tuition, hobbies, a house in a nice neighborhood, college degrees, and a bunch of other expenses add up to a lot more than 60 000 thousand dollars. If one cannot shell out 60 000 dollars to adopt, one does not have the adequate funds to prove a good life with many opportunities for their kids, and therefore should not have children.
My parents were moderately wealthy, well educated with a pHD, lived in a first world country and had the means to buy a few hundred thousand dollar home. Yet, they abused me as a child. I don't think they ever knew they would do that, but they did. And I will forever live with that trauma. No classes were required, there was no social worker by my side, no one checked up on me, and I bet if they went through the weeding process of adoptive parents, they would have realized they simply were not fit to raise a child, and I would have been spared. If they went through the LONG AND ARDUOUS adoption process, they would have realized they simply DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO HANDLE THE STRESS AND LABOR OF RAISING A KID, and I would have been spared from my abuse. I do not care for your pathetic excuses.
  1. " I can't love a kid that's not biologically mine. "
If you are incapable of loving someone/a child, not biologically related to you, you should not procreate. What is so different about an adoptive child, and a biological one? Their genes. So it's clear that you are incapable of loving anyone but yourself, and you see your children as an extension of you, not as fully autonomous human beings with their own thoughts and opinions. You see your kids as a fraction of you, not as their own person. You should not procreate.
Like I said : "If your reasons for wanting a kid are ethical, for example, wanting to nurture and care for someone, and not needing someone to carry your genes, you should be able to accomplish that with a kid that already exists. I dislike children being born to carry your legacy. I am not a fraction of someone else. I am my own person, with my own bodily autonomy, and MY genes. If you are unable or think you are unable to love a kid that isn't biologically related to you, you shouldn't procreate AT ALL."
  1. "I don't know who their parents are/where they came from/who they are" or "They're so damaged, I can't raise them the way I want to."
It's clear that you do not want to care and nurture kids regardless of their circumstances, regardless of their personality, regardless of who or how difficult they are. After all, like I said, if genes are so important to you, you don't want to care and nurture a human, you want a gene carrier whom you have maximum control over, from birth, right down to their genes and parentage. Also, what if your kids have mental or physical illnesses? Are you going to throw them out since they're damaged goods in your eyes? You don't see your kids as people with their own thoughts, opinions, personalities, and difficulties, you see your kids as a fraction of you, not as their own person. You should not procreate. And it's clear that you are incapable of distinguishing a biological parent, and a legal one. According to your logic, since you don't know what kind of parent you'll be, you won't know what kind of parent your biological kids will have, and therefore should not have kids. According to your logic, since you won't know who your kids will grow up to be, and you don't know who they are, you shouldn't biologically have kids too. It really isn't about nurturing and caring for someone, is it? It's about control.
I know there is a bias. I acknowledge it. If I WERE to procreate, and then adopt, I would inadvertently treat my biological kid, slightly better than my adopted kid. Which is why, I will never biologically have any children, IF I were to adopt.
  1. "But if everyone were to adopt, then there would be no more kids!"
I don't get it. You're saying not to adopt, so others will have an easier time adopting? That's not how the adoption process works. And besides, I don't think we're going to run out of kids who need a home that quickly. There are millions of babies, children and teenagers, and every year, more is added to that list. And, the point of adoption is to provide a home and loving, capable parents to the children. Adoption is for the children. The child's happiness, safety and comfort comes first. IF every kid WERE to be adopted, to the point of people having a hard time finding kids to adopt, and people stop having children, wouldn't that be a good thing? Every existing sentient kid is cared for, and no one is forced into existence and suffering without their explicit consent. No one is born - forced into existence, and no one suffers. Isn't that a good thing?
Existence and sentience, is in and of itself, a form of suffering. Sure you might not be in poverty, sure you’ll probably never have a chronic illness or get in an accident, but you’ll feel sadness, anger, jealousy, envy, you’ll face discrimination, uneven power dynamics, less opportunities, hardship, fights, health problems, loneliness and more. There is a reason why “Hell is other people”. And you might say, but at least you’ll feel happy and you’ll find enjoyment in life! But those are not equal trade-offs, because you're implying that I’ll be deprived of such goods, if I don’t exist, which is simply not true. If I don’t exist, I won’t suffer, and I won’t be deprived of goods as compared to my current existence, where I suffer, am deprived of certain goods and opportunities. It is simply better to not exist, as you won't suffer, and you won’t be deprived of goods because you don’t exist.
  1. Procreation is inherently problematic as you are forcing someone into existence without their consent. You are also forcing someone into a life of perfectly preventable suffering.
I will repeat this, there is nothing ethical about breeding, when you're adding to the overpopulation problem, and when there are millions of existing children who need a home. There is nothing ethical about forcing someone into existence without their consent.
You might find it silly, after all, how can a non-existent person give their consent? Which is why it’s not silly. And since they can’t give their consent, because they don’t exist, you’ll force them into existence regardless. Am I right? That is unethical. If they cannot consent, as they are non-existent, then you do not force them into existence, because they cannot consent. Regardless of whether they’ll like existence, after you forced them into it. As they will not be deprived of goods, and they will not begrudge you for not giving birth to them and they will not be upset about their non-existence, precisely because they don’t exist.
If one cannot consent to sex because one is inebriated, regardless of what YOU think, you CANNOT have sex with them, as they ARE NOT ABLE TO CONSENT. That is RAPE. It is not silly.
There is nothing ethical about damning someone into a life of preventable suffering.
There is nothing ethical about buying/breeding a dog, when there are millions of dogs in shelters. If you think you are incapable of loving children who are not biologically but legally yours, you should not have children, because you do not want someone to nurture and care for and go through thick and thin regardless of how rude or crass or difficult they are or how much you disagree with them. You want a gene carrier whom you can control from birth, or if you want to play with semantics, whom you have maximum control over right down to their parentage.
  1. Death/Suicide/Murder is NOT THE SAME as non-existence.
You might ask a. {Why don't you just go kill yourself then?} or b.{Are you saying we should all die?}
Well, first of all, there are several very wrong things with those questions. I
a. t is my understanding that you're equating suicide with non-existence. That is, again wrong. Non- existence and no longer existing are two very different things. Suicide is the act of depriving myself - an existing sentient human being- of my life and sentience ,which I have due to my existence. If I had never existed, I wouldn't be deprived of life or sentience precisely because I wouldn't have existed.
And if you were to equate the two, you would be responsible for the death and suicide of millions of kids, if you don't have millions of children. You do have millions of reproductive cells after all. But how is that possible, if the children are non-existent.
Simply put, suicide is the act of an existing person, knowingly depriving himself of life, goods sentience. Non-existence is the absence of pain/suffering, and never having been deprived of goods, even if you don't have them, because you don't exist. Suicide and non-existence are two very different things.
So just because a life is worth continuing - not depriving yourself of your life/sentience/goods while suffering, does not mean it’s worth starting -never suffering and never being deprived of goods because you don't exist.
b. You might also be equating murder with non-existence. That is again wrong. Murder is the act of depriving another existing, sentient human being, of their existence and sentience, without their consent, which they have due to their existence. If they had never existed, they would have suffered, and they wouldn't be deprived of their existence or sentience, precisely because they don't exist. Murder is not the same as non-existence.
And if you were to equate the two, you would be responsible for the murder of millions of kids, if you don't have millions of children. You do have millions of reproductive cells after all. But how can that be, if the children are non-existent.
Simply put, murder is the act of depriving an existing sentient person of their sentience and existence, without their consent. Non-existence is never suffering, and never being deprived of anything, sentience and existence included, precisely because you do not exist.
Death is NO LONGER existing, non-existence is NEVER existing. I am afraid of death purely because I know the goods I will be deprived off, and the only way that is accomplished is by existing. That is, in itself a form of suffering. If I have never existed, I will never have feared or been deprived of goods, and I will never have suffered, precisely because I don't exist. Like I said earlier: “And if you were to equate the two, you would be responsible for the death and suicide of millions of kids, if you don't have millions of children. You do have millions of reproductive cells after all. But how is that possible, if the children are non-existent.”
Help a kid in need, don't breed!
Please note that my opinions are quite underdeveloped, so if you have better answers, comebacks and arguments, please, comment them.
"Procreation is unethical as you're forcing someone into existence without their consent, and you're forcing them to suffer. You are also adding to the overpopulation problem, and the destruction of the environment. If you want to raise and nurture someone, it's a lot more ethical to adopt and help someone who already exists. I don't think I'll ever adopt, but I'll never force someone into sentience without their consent, and I'll never force someone to suffer.
" Your need for love is not wrong, in and of itself. But I think of this analogy- certain people will try to force intimacy on other persons to satisfy a need they have. The need is legitimate. It is illegitimate to force another person to serve that need. It is illegitimate to force someone into existence without their consent, to satisfy a need that you have. 2021.10.27 19:59 sadbeng Giving birth alone

I'm due in 3 days, and I've always been super excited to have my baby! But recently I've been feeling more nervous and anxious than excited. My partner won't be allowed to accompany me during labor and delivery (hospital covid restrictions) despite us both having RT-PCR tests done every 5 days since I turned 37 weeks. It sucks big time. the thought of being alone during a time like that makes me want to cry, my SO won't be witnessing the birth of our first child, and he won't be there to comfort me through the pain. He'll be able to accompany me during recovery only (separate room). I've been watching a lot of L&D vlogs and reading stories and articles to better prepare myself, but I always notice them having their partners/parents around supporting them throughout. I just wish I could have that too.
Have any of you been through the same experience of giving birth alone? Or dads who couldn't be with their partners during birth? I would really appreciate it if you could share anything at all with me.

2021.10.27 19:59 DiscreetMonarch EY M&A Consulting (SaT) Final Round Interview

Hi guys! I just got an email notifying me that I made it to the final round for the EY M&A Consulting Staff position. It mentioned in the email that there would be 2-3 30-minute interviews, one of them "technical in nature." Does anyone have some insight into what this means, and how I can prepare for this? It isn't Parthenon, it's within Strategy & Transactions, so I'm not sure if it's the same style of case.
