2021.10.27 18:39 _fa__ Do children automatically go to heaven?
If that question has already been discussed, you can remove it. I was thinking about the fate of children who haven't even developed their own sense of self. What would their awareness be like in the afterlife?

2021.10.27 18:39 observeatit [EVENT] The General's Coup
The coup was barely over by the time that the fragile alliance between Lieutenant General Mohammad Akbar Khan and President Iskander Mirza started to crack. The coup had devastated Pakistan's civil government with political party members arrested including some civil servants who had ties to the larger political parties. Before long it was obvious that President Mirza was entirely reliant on the army to effectively govern Pakistan. Not only was the army the only thing suppressing the scattered protests that had cropped up around the country in response to the coup, the army was the only force that had enough skilled administrators to replace the civil administration.
The other big problem was the lack of a clear division of authority between Mirza as President and Akbar Khan as Chief Martial Law Administrator. On paper Mirza was superior to Akbar Khan by merit of being the commander and chief of the Pakistani military but in practice all of his authority had the be implemented through Akbar Khan. This meant that when the opinions of the two men diverged and it came time for Akbar Khan to actually implement the orders given by Mirza he exercised a great deal of leeway in interpreting the orders.
Within a week of the coup President Mirza realized that the current situation was unworkable and began looking for ways to curtail the power of Akbar Khan and reassert his control of the government. Eventually he decided on a two pronged approach. First, he would convene a council of apolitical technocrats led by Akbar Khan as prime minister to carry out government functions before a full return to elected government later that year. Akbar Khan would still have power as prime minister but the powers would also be devolved to the cabinet around him making his own personal power weaker. Second, he would weaken Akbar Khan's control over the military by bypassing him and forming his own relationships with important officers. His main coconspirator in this plan was the chief of the navy Admiral HMS Choudri.
A smart and ambitious man like Akbar Khan of course had plans of his own. To Akbar Khan, President Mirza was a frustrating impediment to the proper and effective administration of Pakistan whose plans of full redemocratization by the end of the year would only guarantee future political deadlock in the country. Akbar Khan believed that the civilian administration of Pakistan as far back as Jinnah had shown that it was incapable of levelheaded governance and that it lacked the killer instinct that was necessary to regain control of the lands lost to Pakistan and India. Only Pakistan's military could form a central government strong enough to lead Pakistan through this moment of crisis and realize Jinnah's dream of a homeland for all of the Muslims of India.
Akbar Khan's greatest asset was his wife Begum Nasim. Nasim was from a wealthy and politically influential family in Punjab and had extensive contacts in almost all of the West Pakistani political parties. She also shared her husband's ambition. While Akbar Khan was busy with the administration of the country Nasim was quietly arranging meetings with members of West Pakistan's political establishment to earn their support for her husband.
Mirza made his move first. Three weeks after the coup he summoned Akbar Khan to a meeting in the presidential palace in Karachi and informed him of his plans to create a cabinet of technocrats with Akbar Khan as prime minister. Akbar Khan was noncommittal in the meeting stating that he believed the country was not yet ready to transition out of martial law. By the time they parted neither man had convinced the other though they had agreed to meet again later that week.
Outside of the meeting Akbar Khan knew that this was part of a ploy to weaken his position in the government, likely with the ultimate goal of removing him from his position in the army. Akbar Khan knew that it was now or never.
That night, Pakistani army took over the presidential residence and detained President Mirza while army units in the rest of the country arrested his strongest supporters. The President was forced to resign the next morning and named Akbar Khan as his successor. He would remain in custody for about a month before being forced into exile in Europe, deprived of his remaining allies and influence in Pakistani politics.
Akbar Khan was now the single most powerful man in Pakistani politics, and he set about consolidating that power. Shortly after his coup the Supreme Court, due to combination of bribes and political arm twisting, ruled that the coups of both Mirza and Akbar Khan were legal under the "doctrine of necessity" where "that which is otherwise not lawful is made lawful by necessity" and "the well-being of the people is the supreme law of the land."
Publicly, Akbar Khan has promised the "imminent" creation of a new constitution that will reflect the political realities in Pakistan.

2021.10.27 18:39 Odd_Worldliness2129 I have three dogs, two of them want to kill each other
I have a smaller rat terrier mutt that's about 4 years old, a Yorkie mutt that's three years old, and another rat terrier mutt that's a little over a year old. Both the 4 year old and 3 year old can get along fine, and my youngest and the three year old are best friends because the youngest was around the 3 year old a lot during the puppy stage. While my youngest wasn't the closest to my eldest, they loved each other, and the youngest would often follow my 4 year old into trouble if they wanted, but nothing serious. Starting a few months ago I noticed a sudden aggression between the two, and I soon found out this wasn't just a disliking where the two go their separate ways, but a bitter rivalry. I'm assuming it's a dominance thing, but is there any way to reconcile them?

2021.10.27 18:39 KungFu-Penis Call-Out Thread
Make your call outs here, make individual posts about the results while linking back to this post. I have dominated two redditors in u/cuttymcbutts and u/ok-buy-3440 on the Xbox. Cutty got highlight reeled in my 905 combo posts and I ran out of clip space for a 3440 aka misterswerve but we went 8-0 b4 I decided to handicap and didn’t strike for the first round and practiced my head movement, then he finished me in the 2nd. I will again proclaim myself as the best user of head movement on Xbox and I challenge anyone to prove me otherwise

2021.10.27 18:39 everydayslackyhacky The original mebios.co.uk
I was rewatching lain recently and I found this link on one of the gauges in her room. Basically the link leaded to an archived forum of sorts, if you want more info on what it is check the wiki. After I did a bit of researching I checked the domain registration of the site, and apparently the domain was only registered in 2003, and that it was going to expire this December. Basically because it was only registered in 2003, it makes me believe that there was a site before this one that was owned by the original production company. So basically, does anyone know if there was a site before the current one? And if there was can you tell us what it was. Also if you're wondering of course I checked wayback machine, and there were no entries before 2003.
Finally before I go I'd just liked to say that there are 2 clone websites of this site, and both of those are archived as well ( Mebious.mobi mebio.us ).

2021.10.27 18:39 725M4 I take back what I said about Sulfur (Spoilers)
I made a post a little while ago unhappy about how Sulfur was taken out so easily. Having reread the book and now listening to the book on tape I change my mind.
Steven Pacey does an absolutely amazing rendition of the scene and the delivery of Glotka lines and the way the fight went actually made my heart beat fast in excitement.
It was well done, Sulfur kicked some ass but the numbers were against him. Glotka and Savine are very lucky he did not get his spell off in time.
I didn’t realize how intense the fire explosion was and how it really was so brutal that it knocked Savine over and she was breathing in heat and pain.
